Specialization branch offered at Coimbra (PT) during the second year

The EMAE programme at University of Coimbra is focused on training students in the areas of environmental quality evaluation and ecotoxicology, embracing terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems. We promote interdisciplinary training, providing students with knowledge and skills on environmental monitoring and ecological risk assessment, closely linked to ecosystems management. The competences acquired allow students to integrate a PhD programme or a direct access to environmental consulting related employment.

Master thesis carried out within such specialization branch (2008-2010 EMAE edition):

"Prelaying period in cory's shearwater: Foraging ecology and behavior"

"The assessment of feeding inhibition in Folsomia candida (Collembola) as an endpoint for Ecotoxicological waste characterization"

"Assessment of environmental quality of urban streams by structural and functional methods"

"Evaluating the impacts of human presence on mother-pup communication in the Galápagos sea lion (Zalophus wollebaeki (Sivertsen 1953))"

"Establishment of ecoregions based on distribution of soil invertebrates for pesticide risk assessment in Europe: Germany as a case study"

"Does climate change affect the risk of pesticides in soil? A case study on erratic rain events on the risk of Pyrimetanyl to soil microbial communities"
