Application (General)

How can I apply? [application]
First, you have to register, then you have just to connect to Intra-EMAE in member's space and reach the applicant's page.

I have two nationalities, one of them is European. Do I am eligible for third-country scholarships? [application]
Yes. Choose at first nationality your non-European. You will be eligible for EM scholarship and you will have no stress for the visa request.

What are the successive steps of my application? [application]
In 9 steps:
>1> register as member >2> connect to Intra-EMAE using the parameters received by email and update personnal details (and change of password) >3> visit the applicant's area and fill-in all the forms >4> ask for two recommendation letters >5> build your Europass CV, save it, print it >6> activate your application using the declaration form >7> prepare all the documents required and scan them, verified using the check list >8> print, sign and scan your application report >9> send all the electronic material by email by the deadline (the papercopies will be supplied only in case of selection).

I have previously applied to EMAE during the next call. If I want to apply again, do I need also to register? [application]
No. All the registered members stay in our database untill they ask to be removed. Your login and other personnal information already exist and you have just to connect to intra-emae (use the reminder if you have forgotten your password). Moreover, since you have already send material, by postmail and email, we can keep the document you want to re-use and you have just to send the new version of updated documents which will replace the other. In order to avoid confusion of version, please inform us before to send other documents which document we have to keep.

I have applied to EMAE during the next call. If I want to apply again, do I need to send all the documents again? [application]
No. We keep your document. Feel free to update any documents (statement letter, CV, ...) and send them to us. We will replace the old ones by the new ones. Some academic and unchanged documents can be re-used following your instructions.

Where can I get the application form to be fill-in? [application]
We don't use paper form for application. You must register, then you have to connect to Intra-EMAE in order to fill-in the forms. Then, the application report is automaticaly build online. You just have to print it and to sign it.

What is the difference between studentship and scholarship in Erasmus Mundus programme? [application]
Studentship is designed for students enrolled in an EMMC programme in order to get the EM M.Sc. degree after the completion of the courses. The grant is allowed during the whole duration of the course. The scholarship is designed to offer to teachers and researchers already in position (and holding M.Sc. and/or PhD) to participate during a short period (from 1 to 3 months) to our teaching or research activities.

I'm registered but I don't find the online formulars for my application? [application]
You have to connect in the Intra-EMAE space for students, and in the "member's page" select "applicant's page" in order to fill-in all the formulars and to activate your application.

How can I activate my application? [application]
In the "declaration" form, you have to choose one applicant category (EU or non-EU) and to respond "Yes" to one of the questions begining by "I hereby apply to .....".

Do I have to send my application also by electronic way? [application]
Yes, we need your documents in both formats, electronic and paper.

English proficiency [top]

Where the scores of the TOEFL must be sent. Is there any Institutional code? [application]
You have to send a copy of your test result joint with the other document. Don't use the direct transfer to the institution, we prefer to receive all your documents simultaneously.

My degree was conducted in English; Do I provide a certified proficiency? [application]
Yes, you have to provide a strandardized proof of your proficiency. Only native speakers are relieved of this proof. We assume that a native speaker is originating from one of the countries listed in our annexe.

I passed a test (TOEFL, IELTS, ...) in English few years ago. Do I need to pass again? [application]
If your result was already above the requirement, it is not necessary. if not, you will have to pass again and try to reach the threshold.

I have followed a language course in English given by a private school. Can I use their certificate instead TOEFL or IELTS test? [application]
No. We accept only standardised test recognised by UK (i.e. all TOEFL tests, IELTS, Cambridge certificates, TOEIC). However, both institutional and international TOEFL are accepted.

There is not enough time for me to obtain a language proficiency certificate before the application deadline. What should I do? [application]
Please, register for the soonest oportunities (both IELTS and TOEFL offer online platforms) and join to your paperwork an additional letter in which you explain the reason and the next marked date for your test.

Degree & Transcript of records [top]

I have already - or I'm actually in - a M.Sc. programme. May I apply to this programme? [application]
Yes, students holding a M.Sc. can applied to EMAE.

I havn't concluded my B.Sc. May I apply to EMAE? [application]
Yes, you can apply but you have to explain in an additional letter the reason of the missing, in details, and when you will be graduated. The selection board will decide to process or not to your evaluation.

When my transcript should be translated in ECTS grading scale? [application]
Your transcript of records must be understandable (translated in English) and with an explanation of the system used (min and max score, passing rules, rank-order with other students and so on). If the system used in your university is very different of standard, please ask to your admission office to write a letter of explanation or to convert your transcript in the ECTS grading scale.

I was graduated in another field than Ecology. May I apply to EMAE? [application]
Yes, of course, feel free to apply even if your curriculum isn't standard. The EMAE selection board will assess carefully the personnal project of each applicant and its suitability. If your participation seems to be relevant, and if our programme sounds to be helpful in the realisation of your project, you could be enrolled.

Do the reference letters must be written in english? [application]
Yes, you have to download the proforma and to send it to your reference. The filled-in form can be sent by email or by postmail.

Do the reference letters must be received by the deadline? [application]
Please, ask to your referees to fill-in the pro-forma, then, to send a scanned copy of the signed form directly by email. We need your two recommendation letters for the application evaluation.

Intra-EMAE webspace [top]

Why to be registered? What is Intra-EMAE? [website]
You have to be registered if you want use Intra-EMAE. Intra-EMAE offers companion and toolbox according your EMAE status. Once logged, you are authorised to access to member's area and can change your log-in parameters, your email address, your personal information. From member's page you can access to applicant's area and all the application forms are available during the duration of the call. Important documents and links are available in order to help you in this process. You can check and track your application material. Iif your are selected, a new area will become available according your status (mail list or reserve list) with new functions. Then, all the enrolled students have access to EMAE student's area during their programme and when completed, our alumni's area where you stay in touch with the programme.

Grant and Fees [top]

Do the grant must be used to pay the tuition fees? [grant]
yes. The grant must be use in order to cover all the expenses of your participation to the programme (i.e. personnal expenses, accomodation, tuition fees).
